History of Safonique

1992 - October, Patricia Boswell has the AH-HA moment about creating natural cleaning agents for detergents and household cleaning products. She founded Browell Industries with her husband. 1993 - Safonique is created. It’s a natural, high-quality, family forthcoming, economical and eco-friendly laundry detergent. (Hypoallergenic, no enzymes, no phosphates, no perfume, no animal testing and made with recycled packaging.) 1994 - Patricia begins to develop a business plan while she continues to research the consumer packaged goods industry. Safonique is trademarked. Networking for financing begins. 1995 - The business plan is completed and Boswell Industries becomes incorporated. Safonique is manufactured in powder formula.  1996 - Safonique is available to consumers in independent natural food markets, children store and fund raising events. 1998 - Patricia moves to Bowling Green, Kentucky and starts shopping at the local Wal-Mart Super Center. Determined to place Safonique in Wal-Mart, she conducts ongoing research and buying patterns of the local Wal-Mart customers. 1999 - Spring - Safonique debuts in local Wal-Mart after Patricia approaches the store manager requesting Safonique is placed in his store on an end cap. A liquid version of Safonique is formulated and pure essential oils are used.  2000 - Patricia moves to New York City and creates 100oz bottle package design and conducts product testing. 2002 - Patricia approaches corporate Wal-Mart Category Manager to feature Safonique in Wal-Mart Super Centers. 2003 - Safonique liquid laundry detergent with pure essential oils enters Wal-Mart. Safonique is the first detergent to feature a pure scent. 2004 - Safonique wins Food Marketing Institute’s Award for Best New Beauty and Health Product. Safonique debuts in CUBS stores throughout Chicago. 2006 - Safonique achieves distribution at Jewel, Giant and Stop n Shop grocery stores. 2007 - Safonique becomes available at Shop-Rite stores. 2008 - Safonique 2x is formulated and new, more eco-friendly, packaging is developed.
